Hey guys, I want to buy a CSA compact in 7.62 and I have few question for those that have them already..

1. How is the accuracy with these things? I know I can't expect much from 7" barrel and such small distance between the sights, but still curious how it is. Whats the maximum efective range, and how are the groups?

2. Does it burn you hand when you shoot? The gas ports seem to be so close, does it spit out any "extras" back in you face?

3. How is recoil and muzzle blast compare to longer models?

4. Does the muzzle velocity drop significantly compare to 11" one ?

5. Is there a way to attach a vertical grip ?

Thanks.

Wow, no comments through out the weekend.. I was under impression that a lot of these guns were sold and someOne will share the info.

read below.

Not that I know off.

3. How is recoil and muzzle blast compare to longer models?

what do you think? Dumb question. Have you ever shot a SBR?

4. Does the muzzle velocity drop significantly compare to 11" one ?

DUMB question, what do you think?

5. Is there a way to attach a vertical grip ?

Not yet.

Thanks.

Ever heard of tact? :jerkit:

I haven't shot a CSA Compact, but from my experiences firing my friend's "Krinkov" a few times when I visited him are:

1. How is the accuracy with these things? Exactly what you would expect, not going for long distance here, but plenty accurate for 100m at least.

2. Does it burn you hand when you shoot? The gas ports seem to be so close, does it spit out any "extras" back in you face? Couldn't tell ya, my SBR experience is with Krink type weapons, but it wasn't too bad on them.

3. How is recoil and muzzle blast compare to longer models? Muzzle blast is more, mainly because of the excess powder being burned out of the muzzle. Recoil to me wasn't much different, if noticeable at all.

4. Does the muzzle velocity drop significantly compare to 11" one ? Again, not sure, good question that others may be able to coherently answer.

5. Is there a way to attach a vertical grip ? From what I have seen of them, I don't think there are any easy ways other than homebrew methods of attaching a VFG.

Hope this helps a tad.

^^ hey, thanks.. I was mostly intarested to know how bad the accuracy was and I'm surprised that you mentioned 100m.. This gun will be shot mostly of hand, while standing or moving, so I dont think I'll be able to do any good further then 40 - 50 meters..
Also what's the barrel length on Krinkov, isn't it longer then 7".

1. How is the accuracy with these things? I know I can't expect much from 7" barrel and such small distance between the sights, but still curious how it is. Whats the maximum efective range, and how are the groups? 3-4" @ 100 yds, with scope

2. Does it burn you hand when you shoot? The gas ports seem to be so close, does it spit out any "extras" back in you face? No burns.

3. How is recoil and muzzle blast compare to longer models? No recoil at all, massive muzzle blast!

4. Does the muzzle velocity drop significantly compare to 11" one ? Minimal, but less barrel = less velocity

5. Is there a way to attach a vertical grip ? Yes, we have adapted bayo mount rails for CZs.

Hey D,

Groups great at 50-100 yards. 3-4" for me with surplus ammo (maybe a bit larger if I am just blasting away).

No it does not burn your hands

Recoil is alittle bit more if not the same as the 11.8"

But the muzzle blast is huge, almost like a shotgun. I have to put ear plugs in then my earmuffs over cuz the thing is so damn loud.

D listen to me man, this thing is a riot to shoot. That is why I sold my 11.8" and kept the 7.5"
You will love it man

Thats right, i double plug because of the noise, but they are great!!

4. Does the muzzle velocity drop significantly compare to 11" one ?

I don't know on the 7.5", but clobbersaurus chronied surplus ammo through a 19" 858 and his 12" vz58 and got just under 2300fps for the 19" and 2120fps for the 12". Even if the 7.5" loses the same from the 12" as the 12" did from the 19" you will still see around 1900fps.

Thank you very much guys, that's all I wanted to hear.. :)

If I will not find one here in the next couple of days, I'll get one from the local dealer on the weekend.

Thanks again.

So, i bought it. :) Coolest thing ever :)

ONE PROBLEM though, It didnt come with a siderail. It does have the two threaded holes plugged with a screw-in plugs.

Is that the way 7.5" will be coming from now on ?? i know they use to all come with the rail. Dealer said it was a very recent shippment..

Anybody else got one without the sidemount rail ???????

well if this can be any help, my dpms kitty kat with a 7.5inch'er was SURPRISINGLY accurate at 100 yards. I mean, it kinda out shot the sks LOL

wish I could speak from direct experience on the compact, but all I got is a carbine. /insert sad face

We just got a stock of new CZ factory heavy duty side rails, with screws. They bolt right on. They are HERE.

Cool, thanks for heads up, i will let you know if i need one. Now i have to figure out if actually want to put a red dot on it. This gun is so small, it might look weird. I tried installing a Galil Stock on it, and it looks as big as the rest of the gun, so i decided to leave the factory folder for now..
