Not sure if I should be posting this in the Corwin Arms subsection ..

Gotta say, from the looks of these SG's and the reviews from you guys this line seems like a real bargain for what you are getting vs cost. Have no hands on with them but they appear quite impressive.

The 12 gauge combo (chokes, barrel & mag tube extension, 26" barrel option) is an eye catcher. I do not need another 12 gauge but imagine I'll be picking this up soon.

questions:

- I've yet to read any comments on the synthetic stock set version. The wood looks good but is the synthetic stuff ok or is that that bad way too heavy need to replace type the Chinese stuff suffers from ?

Been looking for a compact 20 gauge that my wife can handle and was ecstatic to see they offer exactly this !!

- is the 20 gauge a scaled down receiver or same size as the 12 gauge ? (a longer barrel / extension option would be really cool for this guy)

- had a 3rd question but for the life of me drawing a black as I type this.
I think it was wondering if the 20 gauge's now all come with the lower front sight ?

Thanks.

I haven't handled any of the short pumps that you're looking at, but based on having used several of the other shotguns martin has brought in, there are some things in common between them.
The wood in my opinion is very good considering the price. It's not $1000+ shotgun walnut burl or birds eye maple, but every bit as good as I have seen on other shotguns. The same goes for the synthetic stocks, they're no better or worse than anything I have felt/used.

My main gripe is with the buttpads. A lot of the buttpads that seem to come on Turkish guns remind me more of hockey pucks than anything. It's hard to see from the pictures what these pumps are like, but some are different, and I like the hunter stock that comes on the Asena 20ga mag fed shotguns in particular. If you're looking at 20ga it's not as big of an issue, but a 12ga slaps you around a bit more, so I would pick the wood vs synthetic if you ever want to install a new buttpad at any point as there's just more material there to work with.

Good advice dand883. One of the first things I do on all my SG's is install a grind to fit Limb Saver R3 as I have the same opinion as you on the majority of SG's on the market. No doubt, you need a good pad on a 12 gauge.

About 99.5% sure I'm getting this 20 gauge for the girly and will do an R3 on it as well.

Thanks for the wood and synthetic observations. The wood does indeed look great for the money. I didn't expect the synthetic to be anything special, just wanted to confirm it wasn't that ridiculously heavy type the Dominion stuff has.
