Sweet. recoil like a .223 using Win 8mm Mauser commercial ammo 170gr RN SP.
Solid, no rattling. Only downside is paint finish, just like original and brass ends up with double radius. Should be re-loadable though. Placement of hand on forearm is crtitical. too far back and cocking handle slams into your fingers, too far forward and you're on the gas port. There is a reason the troops used gloves in combat.

Thanks Nabs that was my Idea to incorporate my FJ uniforms with the FJ-42 it just seemed the right thing to do.Too bad I didn't have the FJ flag to hide more of the rifle case.Oh well.

Shooting the SSD FG-42 was a riot. really well controlled for a 8mm Mauser and the sights are excellent to boot.It's amazing to see how some many other gunmakers copied ideas from this little number.A real gem plus yes the recoil is very similar to that of the 5.56 Nato.But way better than the average AR. with a lot more umpf....

Exactly what I need. I'm picking up an FG42, StG44 and MP38 in one order when my win comes...I've had my eye on the FG at Zefarm for a while now...mmmm
