Looking at playing around with some custom sights, anyone know if the strands of fiber optic material are bendable just like fiber optic cable kinda idea or is it a solid material?

Can it be heated up and bent if its solid, or will heating it effect its ability to pass light?

Any idea where to buy this stuff, other than ebay?

I bought mine at Brownells to repair the Dawson fibre optic sight on my Trojan. They are flexible, but fragile. I'd say bending anything more than a 2" radius would either put a kink in it or snap it. They are a thermoplastic - so you can melt them with a lighter. That's actually how the Dawson youtube video shows how to install the replacement rod. You cut to length and melt the ends to prevent the rod from sliding out.
