fiberoptic sights and cleaners

I have a new M&P with f/o sights. I have heard some rumblings about being careful with the chemicals and processes that come in contact with them. I don't want to do any damage to the sights. Where would a person go to find out info on this?

Don't get solvent or oil on them .
Change them out every now and then.
Sucks to lose the FO during a course of fire!

Bring a spare piece of FO in the correct size for your sight, a single edge razor and a butane lighter in your spares kit for matches, courses, etc.

Fibres aren't meant to last forever, they're consumables so stock up on spares and learn how to change them:

Hoppes doesnt seem to affect them but break cleaner will give them a frosted look which makes them dull so I generally try to keep any cleaners away.Either way,as mentioned,buy a few replacement sticks of FO rod and replace evry few months

its a plastic gun too! so keep brake clean or others away from it too!
soap and warm water no?
