I have a Para 14-45. I would like to put a fibre optic front sight on the gun. Anyone have any experience in what works or does not work? I have looked at Brownell's.
ANY information would be appreciated.

Make sure that you get one that has the top exposed so that as much of the fibre can pickup light.
Don't expect them to work in low light or indoors. When I use mine outside it is bright & very easy to pick up. Nice. Mine is a Hi Viz on the front of a 1911A1.

I have a set of fiberoptics on my fabarm, and put a set on my fathers 7600. They are Amazing. They are actually pretty freak'n awesome at dusk.

You don't need to order from the States. The Shooting Edge in Calgary (and one of our sponoring dealers) have fibre optic sights. I got some for my 1911 and my Sig 226. Forget the brand but red front/green rear. Mailed to me in less than a week. Make sure you order correct size for your gun. They work great, give TSE a call and they can advise on correct height for front sight (i.e. # 6 or 8 for most. They offered to install if I sent the slides but I prefer not to do that. Any good local gunsmith with a proper sight pusher can do the job.

I'm looking forward to the STI Spartan I have coming to me...it has an FO front sight, which seems really bright on the ones I have handled locally in the past.

FO's are good but like all sights they have limitations. I wish there was an LED sight that could be adjusted for brightness but didn't take up more room than a stock sight. Combination night/FO is still a compromise. Maybe one of the aspiring inventors out there will make a pile of cash inventing something like that.
