SHould I excise more care when installing this type of sight? I have heard that the fibre optic rod should be removed before installation, but it appears to be flattened on either end to keep it in place. It is similiar to Dawson sets, but it is called PSI. The rear is adjustable, but I do not see any screws to tighten it in place, althought it came with an allen key:confused:
My current adjustables justed tapped in and I used some clear nail polish to keep it from shifting, although it doesn't appear to need it.
How fragile are the Fibre optic pieces??

The inserts are 'disposible', meaning, you should replace them when they get fouling or other dirt on them. The flattened ends are simply melted parts of a FO rod. The EGW front sight I have on mine uses a little dab of crazy glue to keep the insert in, and to remove it I just clipped it with a nail clipper.

The inserts are like $7 for a foot long piece. Take whatever care you deem necessary, but just know that the rod is not supposed to last the life of your gun!

thanks,
I am impressed with the sight, it has rounded parts to the rear adjustable (snag free?), and the inserts are near the very top of the rear and front sight.

i just got a set of Dawsons...will try them for the next few matches. Still have to see what colour i like. Kelly was nice enough to give me 4 pcs of red and green at the Nationals....Thanks allot Kelly.

the front sight was very loose, I can push it out with finger pressure. The rear sight had to be trimmed at the base in order to go in.
I usually use clear nail polish to keep loose sights in place, aside from lock-tite, anyone else think this is ok to use (clear nail polish)?
