I've got a Buckmark and a Shadow, both with fibre optic front sights, and regular (black) rear sights. I really like the sight picture I get with this combination, as the front sight is easy to pick up, and contrasts nicely with the rear notch.

I'm considerring a S&W 1911 that comes with fibre optics front AND rear. Haven't had the opportunity to try that combination, and am concerned that it might be just a little overkill with glowing red dots (recognizing I could always switch out the rear sight if I didn't really like it).

Who's had experience with front and rear fibre sights. Comments would be appreciated.

I like the bright front sight (tritium, FO, even white dot) with a plain black rear sight... this is my favourite combo for pistol. I am not a fan of having anything on the rear sights at all.

No one has eyes like you though so other people's opinions shouldn't really matter.. def try them out and see how your eyes like them!

I just bought a Ruger Single Ten and it came with fiber optics front and back and I really like it. It is the only gun that I have with a rear fiber optic sight and I find it very easy to use.

BEST sight picture I've seen is the CZ SP01 Shadow. Square, black, angled back and serrated rear target sight with a fiber optic front. On recoil you can pick up the front sight right away. My preference (as you know) is F/O, orange insert or gold dot front sight and and plain black rear. I actually blacked out the tritium dots on the rear of my Sig 226 and instaled the F/O front from the Tac-Ops. Changed the front of my 686 from a ramp to a gold dot. Just my preference.

i like a front fibre sight, but a plain black rear sight. my m&p has front and rear tru glos and its a bit too busy for me.

One owner "for" and one "against". Guess I'll have to track one down and have a look myself.

Thanks guys
