Field gun for clay duty - Beretta S56

Just bought an old Beretta S56 and read up on it to find most articles not recommended for pounding clays. Should I be worried? I probably shoot skeet at 4-5 rounds a day a week. I shoot Kent velocity typically. What makes a field gun different from a sport gun? Any parts internally I can upgrade for clays? I know this gun has fixed chokes mod/full but I am hoping to improve my accuracy with tighter pattern.

The biggest differnces between a field gun and a dedcated clays gun normally are the stock design, barrel length, and the mass of the gun.
However, I use several field guns for clays shooting, in fact most of my clays shooting is done with field guns, I shoot about 10 or 12 games of skeet or trap a week.
Some sooter experience discomfort due to the light weight of a field gun, but some don't.
That would depend on the gun fit and if there is a decent recoil pad on the gun, and of course the loads used.

Probably one of the biggest reasons for not recommending it for clays is the weight. I have an older Beretta S57E and it is quite light compared to a Citori. It is great for carrying in the field but I wouldn't want to shoot it too long at clays. You will probably find it is going to punish your shoulder by the second box. But as mentioned, a different recoil pad may change this plus maybe you could add some weight in the stock if need be. But that may change the handling dynamics.
