I remember seeing the Shrike coming out almost like 15 years ago, when they took a bunch of deposit and then another 10 years to deliver.

The old Aries Shrike had a few issues so hopefully these things do work. I see that they are machining the feed tray out of bar stock because one of the old complaints was the feed tray got worn out fairly quick.

The dual feed is a good idea, but having a box or a sac attaching to the bottom of the mag well means you need to have a very tall bipod. Ergonomic speaking it is a bit screwed up. It is going to be pretty awful to have a sac or a box hanging that low, especially with the 200 round tupperware box. I understand they go this way for the people with registered lowers and sears down in the states, but this is definitely not the way to go if the market is related to military use.

As a more serious end product, they should offer a belt fed only lower without the mag well, so the box can be hanged much higher. I think they offered that for awhile but the current site doesn't show it.

Can someone knowledgable comment on the legality of belt length? I see they use M27 links. Are they considered old enough for unlimited length?

Edited: 5 round limit. Any platform using linked 5.56mm is too new from what I can gather.
