I want to start practising for CQB. My club won't allow Human or Silhouette targets. I would like to copy the ring pattern onto cardboard. I need the dimensions and spacing of the rings. I realise this won't give me the same sight picture or aiming point, but it would be useful for figuring out my zero setting and how much I need to hold high or low for other distances.

The bull is 2" x 4" Top half is white.

next is 3" x 6"

next is 8" x 16"

As you know, you should aim a bit low at the longest range. Aim at the middle (top of black/bottom of white) at the mid ranges and a up close, aim at the top of the white.

If your range has 25 yards, I suggest getting your zero with the rifle on its side, simulating modified prone. This zero will then give you the aim high/low that I described above, and make the modified prone a gimme.

Perfect, exactly what I was looking for.

Are they centered within each other?

Also, is there any bull on the face? If so, how far is the lowest edge if it from the top edge of the outermost center mass ring?

Another option is to simply photocopy the 8.5 x 11 center portion of the figure 11. It is still large enough for what you need but doesn't look like anything like a person when showing only that portion so the clubs don't freak out. Same can be done for the head portion but you need to play with the contrast setting on copier to remove most of the "face". Works good.

Yes. I practice with a photocopy of the middle of the target. Does not look "human".

No bull on the face. We don't shoot at that face anymore, BTW. We stick huns head sniper target there.

I have a copy of the full rings/boxes set up to be photocopied on 11x17" copy paper. They only cost 4 cents more (12 cents each) to copy at staples. Will upload the files to dropbox and post a link shortly.

I uploaded the files in both the full 11"x17" and in two 8.5"x11" halves in .jpg and .pdf format. You can print them yourself and tape the halves together in order to get the full size for photocopying. There will be some overlap for the 8.5"x11" prints to be able to be taped together. Be aware it will take a lot of ink to do so, so I suggest taking the large file to Staples to have them print it for you.

This may be a stupid question, but I have to ask it...

Why zero the rifle on its side? If the bullet's path intersects with the line of sight at 25m, why would that change when the system is rotated 90 degrees?

Am I missing the obvious here?

Thanks!

In theory, as you say, if a rifle is zeroed at 25 yards, the bullets will hit POA if rifle is vertical or on the side. In theory.

It is my experience that some of my rifles have to be aimed a bit hi or low, or left or right in the mod prone position. So, I zero them in mod prone. The result shifts the zero up or down a bit when shot normally. This is not an issue because I have to aim a bit hi or low at various distances in the CQB match anyway.
