Thinking about attempting to fill in the selector cut-out on my M14 USGI wood stock. Who's done it and how did it go? Tips? Should I bother for a range-baby? Input appreciated. Thanks

On a wood stock I would suggest you find a dummy selector swich or something to fill the hole. Unless you are very good with wood and can make your own wooden plug.

In the past, I just used some Bisonite, I bought it from www.champchoice.com in the US. It's already coloured Walnut, but then again, wood filler putty at Cambodian Tire is cheaper.

I thought the Bisonite was nice because of the colour. Then I realized that the area being filled is NOT a high stress or critical bedding area. So select the "Hungry Welfare Approach" and go cheap with the wood filler putty found at any Home Depot, Home Hardware, or Ukrainian Tire. I just used masking tape to hold the putty in place while it sets and cures.

YMMV and HTH

Get an Acraglas kit. Put a bit of masking tape on both dies. Mix up the epoxy with the colouring agent trying to get the colour as close as possible. Fill in the space.
