Finally a bang flop!

He has a Remington 770 30-06 that is fairly new. It came with a crappy stock scope which is likely a 70 dollar scope for one. He has been having a hell of a time zeroing it, and from what I can tell when we took him out to zero last time he has to work on marksmanship principles. Breathing, trigger manipulation etc. To make matters worse, he has a plastic sling swivel stud which means he can't put a bipod on there for fear of it snapping off. Bad choice of gun all around for pred hunting, but sadly because he doesn't have alot of money he is using what he has. He doesn't have the luxury of owning a Mint Rem 700 PSS from the 90's like me :)

He'll get there. We zeroed him at 100m within about 2 MOA today. Pretty decent for him. Way better than 2 feet at 100m anyways. He'll improve with time for sure.

With that said I did that rockstar shot on the move this morning and felt great then I went to the range and put 40 rnds through my rifle and I was ALL OVER THE PLACE. I had a terrible day at the range! As the spank said it happens!

Now to wash all my hunting gear. Sigh. Anyone know how to sanitize boots? I really don't want mange.

Good luck to you guys and I'm sure your buddy will improve with practice. I know it's a good feeling putting down a mangy dog knowing full well the animal would have suffered a whole lot more over the coming months. Nature is far more cruel in its control of wildlife populations. Congrats on the yote and keep up the good work.

Well done on the dog OP, and good on ya for working with your buddy to improve his marksmanship skills.
