Finally decided...HK USP 9mm :) - thoughts?

I own a USP9 in Stainless and it's one of the guns that will never leave my collection. It's overall appearance can turn some people away but once you shoot it, there's no turning back.

Try ti out, some people say that you need big hands for this pistol but I don't agree. A female co-worker of mine tried it and she's like 5'1" with smalls hands. My USP has a Hogue "Wrap Around" grip which make it even bigger and she grouped like crazy at 10m. She told me that the USP was a lot more comfortable than my Norc 1911 (which is slimer).

I called one of the local gunsmith to get a pricing on a black slide HK USP 45 about an hour ago. I do plan on getting the 45 in the following days.

Put my deposit down on a fellow CGNer's USP9 the other day... Now need to sort out my restricted!
Can't wait :D
This'll be my first pistol.

So after a few months of deciding what pistol to get I am now wanting to get a HK USP 9mm in DA/SA and am pretty certain on it. I tried all the main stream pistols on CGN...ie 1911, Glock, CZ and all not bad pistols they are just not for me. Thoughts/opions on the USP?

Good choice...love the USP. You can shoot the crap out of it and it will always perform. Very reliable, and accurate...you'll see.

I have a HK usp .45 ACP, I love it.
Very accurate, I like the ’’very square aggressive look’’.
10 rounds mag capacity, ambidextre release mags, double recoil spring, very good design.
I replaced the hammer spring (10lbs) great in double action.
See large différence.

I don't think so. "Personally," and that means "my opinion" is that 9mm is weak. Before you reply, DON'T. I don't care and you won't change my mind. .45 or .357 or any other larger calibre unless it is for target shooting. Just my opinion and I will have it uninterrupted. Cheerio!

PS - the block of a HK45 I held and shot was unlike any .45. It seems they added steel and junk where it didn't need to be. I am sure it is a fine pistol if you want twice the weight and bulk of a .45acp and twice the hassle of a double action firearm, sure, and you believe a hundred extra pistol parts are just fine where they don't need to be AND you want to pay 140% more than a good pistol in the same calibre, no problem. Go for it.

PSS - now to put my flame suit on but it is all true, I SWEAR!

THE ONE ON THE RIGHT!!

Accurate, reliable and tough pistol. It didn't fit me so I bought the HK P2000 which is the next step in evolution from the USP.

One advantage the USP has over the P2000 is the capacity for cocked and locked. I only wish they made a HK with a P2000 frame and cocked and locked safety.

Picked my USP 9mm up from the post office yesterday! Can't wait to get out and shoot her. Lots of dry practice with snap caps for now.
The only ergonomic issue I notice is that in order to get a good proper grip (following what I watched in Magpul's Art of Dynamic Handgun video), I'm forced to rest my left thumb on the edge of the slide release and my right thumb is kind of pinned awkwardly under the safety. Otherwise, my left thumb interferes with my trigger finger :p

Also:

Get it with the detent plated that disables the decock function of the lever. (that way, you can carry it cocked and locked=Single action safety on)

Am I missing something? Because I'm pretty sure my USP can be carried with the hammer cocked and the safety on, and I still have the decocking function... or am I misinterpreting "cocked & locked"

If you have a variant 1, yes, it can be carried with the hammer cocked and the safety on, ie. "cocked & locked".
