Although this is not considered to be a "Precision" caliber, I hope the rifle turns out to be very precise. Last winter I had a couple coyotes hold up at about 500 yards while I was out with my 17 Rem FB, got pissed off and I went home and started researching a few different calibers. I wanted something fairly quick and flat shooting with low recoil. Not one to march to the beat of the drum I decided on the .257 Roberts AI. Today I received my barrel and now I can begin the dis-assembly/assembly of my new rifle. The donor is a Savage Model 111 .270 DM. I bought an Accustock/recoil lug/barrel nut from Savage, a bolt handle from Tactical Works Inc., the Timney trigger from Mystic and the Shillen Select Match Grade barrel came from Juanvaldez. I'm going to use it as a Franken rifle for now and will get it cerakoted in the spring. The one problem I'm going to have is with the smooth barrel nut as my wrench is for the old style. Any suggestions?
