Finally got around to scaning this pic, thought id share it

My grand father ww2, never saw any fighting was honourably discharged for poor eye sight, i believe its a air force uniform, i did manage to get his "war service medal" still have the original documents saying he was entitled to it,

as am i, i never got to meet him, he passed away before i was born, makes me feel proud

The Side Cap was inter-service for some time.

He is wearing a Lanyard, which was not standard issue for aircraft; you use it for firing a cannon.

White lanyard = Artillery.

Might get you a bit closer.
