Who ever said being duty at the ship's bar is a waste of time!
I got home a few minutes ago and as I was coming up the driveway, noted that the compost bin lid was open. Figured the wife left it open earlier (I saw her take the compost out to it) until I got close and found "my friend" ....the local garbage can tipping raccoon inside.
Well.
Lid was closed fairly promptly, and a handy block of concrete dropped on top to prevent an escape whilst I prepared.
It was awfully tempting to go in and grab a .22 and shoot him, unfortunately, that would not have been the best option....sticks? Iron bar? BAYONET....
Grabbed an old warhorse, clipped on the bayonet I picked up at a gunshow years ago, and off I went.
No more garbage tipping for that Coon. I've been after that little bugger since I moved in here. Pretty much twice a week he's raided my garbage. Now he's going out with it.
And that pretty much sums up my hunting season this year...no time off from work to be able to go off in the bush, so I have to settle for what came to me...
