Nice video NS :)

Does the chalk round just decentigrate? I didn't seen an impact in the video.

Are you launching it with .38S&W blanks?

Sxyglock,

The rounds consist of a 35mm film cannister with a couple of flat washers in it for weight, filled with flour, and topped with some red chalk.

About 80% of the rounds make it downrange and "burst" when they hit the ground.

About 20% lose their lids as they leave the bore, and show up like the one you saw in the video.

Max range I've gotten is about 150 yards with one of these, on top of 55.0 grains of FFFg Blackpowder and a 209 Shotshell primer.

The film cannisters will simply punch through a core-plast plastic target face.

55 grains of FFFg? SHEESH! I'm surprised not more of a fireball out the end.

I thought my 1" projectiles going 100m with 65grains of Fg was a hot load!

Thanks for the info. W209's rock :)

I have not got into the BP loads yet,but was test firing old computer mouse balls out back.......i live in the country;) using
just W209's.

When I run out of BP I will probably switch over to smokeless, but there's no rush on that.

It'd be nice to be able to watch the rounds go out as they're fired, instead of eating a cloud of BP Smoke!

Yeah, hear ya on that one.
I tried having the camera right behind the launcher when it fired so you could see the banger hit the 100m berm then eventually blow up.
The smoke wasn't even close to being clear by then, so you just seen a white cloud.
I put my camera on 60FPS slow mo recording, and the damn fireball washes the camera right out.

So, I see smokeless might have some advantages.
