5r w/ some scope i cant make out, harris 6-9 bipod?
Yes a 5r .308 with a vortex viper 6-24x50 pst ffp, Farrell 20 moa base, Burris zee sig rings medium, and a rock mount 6-9 swivel bipod. My first venture into long range rigs. I bought the recommended size butler creek covers, but the eye one is way to big.

nice, for an entry gun you should be more then happy with the 5r!
do you load?? 175gn SMK, , 42.5gn varget, 10-15thou off the lands should put u damn near right on the lower node of the rifle!

yeah but i have cheapo federal brass so i dont want to go that high
and with out knowing what brass stoop will be useing, and by the sounds of it he will be a new reloader i opted for the lower node

ya the FC brass is way to soft. I gave it a try and was getting solid pressure signs at 44.5gn. Way to low seeing as even my Lyman reloading manual says 45.2 is max load.
Ya know whats neat about the 5R tho, seams like alot of us end up with the same recipe. Ever shoot the 178 amax? I knew it was the lower node but I had a very accurate settup using 42.5gn of varget as well.
