it's about friggin time. we hunting this certain area a dozen times already this year and always saw lots of sign. my skidoo broke down last weekend in the middle of this swamp/prarie so we went yesterday to haul it out. when there we found fresh moose tracks and buzzed around trying to see one but to know avail , the damn moose crossed our tracks but we didn't get a look .but we did find an antler. all last night and early this morning all i thought about was the one antlered moose rooming around the bush. today was the last day that i would be able to hunt as the season ends wed and i work so we went back to the same spot where we found the antler and just as we started to buzz aroung a patch of black spruce there was the one antlered moose standing about 500 yards away. i pinned the skidoo and got within 150 yards or so and he still had not moved. i stood up on my friends borrowed snowmachine (cause mine is in the shop) and fired with my browning a-bolt 300 wsm, with handloaded 200 grain nosler partitions and down he went. he popped back up and started to trot away and i fired again missed, my third shot hit the mark again hard because he humped up on his hind legs and stumbled, after all i remember was pulling the trigger, reloading my clip and firing more. the third time he went down i skidooed right up on him about 15 yrds and put one in his neck and down he went. again he tried to get up so i sent one behind his ear and that was it. My first big game ever. me and my buddy are not sure who hit what and where but we did recover a 270 bullet under the hide. This moose took a bullet through the shoulder, smashing through the shoulder blade, windpipe, another bullet put a fist size hole in the ribs and lungs, another clipped the top of his spine, two in the neck, and one in the head........tough. the one antler fell off when we where dressing it. anyways fellas hope you enjoy the pics and story

we took the guts out then tied the head on the back of the skidoo and just dragged it out to the road and pulled it on the trailor. sounds easy buthauling a dead moose 10 k through willows and winding narrow trail is never easy
