Okay so the other day I picked up a 52 Simonov is good shape. I know I know, I should have done this a long time ago. Anyways, I just put a Tapco stock on it and love it. Far more comfortable and ergonomic.

I want to pick up a Tapco 5/20 rounder soon. My question is, can stripper clips be used with those Tapco mags, and if not can they be modified so a stripper clip can be used?

Thanks in advance

Pretty sure the magazine has nothing to do with the stripper clip usage. As long as the stripper clip guide on the bolt is intact, then it should feed just fine from your clips.

I don't have any personal experience with this, but from what I've found the factory fixed magazine has an approx 1/4" notch in rear of the magazine the aligns with the guide on the bolt. The tapco does not have this, but it's a simple enough modification. I have a tapco in the mail so I plan on testing this out soon.

Stripper clips work perfectly fine with my metal 5/30 round magazine. I can't see why they wouldn't work with the plastic Tapco mag.

I've got two 5/20 tapco mags and both load problem free off of the stripper clips.

The biggest issue you'll have with these mags is getting them to initially fit into to the receiver. They might require a little in and out movement befor they can slide in without much effort.

Great mags though, and at that price you won't go wrong.
