My Criteria: Relativity close, I am located in Downtown Toronto. No car, just a motorbike so long journeys can be a pain. If it is accessible by GoBus/Train then that would be great. Or located between Toronto - Aurora (GF is up in Aurora). Will be getting a car soon (once I pass the G2)

Price: Given my schedule I may only go to a range 1-2x a month on weekends. I phone some clubs and they requested I buy a share at aprox 3,500. Or some clubs were asking for 700

Duration: From what I hear it is standard to 1) Take an ATT course 2) Participate in 4 supervised shootings. So I guess its going to be a long process where ever I go.

Quality of range: I am shooting handguns, not sure if I plan to get into rifle shootings etc.

I do have an ATT course booked with Silverdale on the 3rd of Nov.

Any suggestions?

Hi,
I am also downtown TO and looking for a gun club. I drive and am thinking of becoming a member at Aurora Gun Club once I get my license, however it is indoor for handheld firearms. Could give you a ride depending on ATT (I believe it allows you to go from home to club shortest distance) but don't have it do don't know.
Anyway keep in touch.
John

Are there any clubs that dont require the four-six mandatory shoots before applying for a ATT.

This is starting to get crazy. Everyone I have spoken to is either full or too far.

I dont own a car (only a motorbike) and a lot of clubs are asking that I drop by to obtain the form e.g., target. My plan was to rent a car to go to Silverdale, but with 4 mandatory shoots, the journey is just too much for a single shoot.

Please help or provide a solution.

My only suggestion is if you have to drive all the way down to Silverdale for a probationary shoot try and make a day out of it.

Explain your situation to them and see if you can do your shoots on the weekend picked up a cheap 22 non restricted rifle, 500rds of ammo is only $35ish and after your probationary shoot plink for a while on the short ranges before heading home.

My GF lives in Aurora, so that may be the best place for me. How far along are you with your application?
