Finding a lever in .357

There’re one or two listed in EE right now. Same with GP. A quick Google search of “1873 357 Canada” brought up several hits for in stock items too. Not sure what the issue is here.

Anyone have experience with the Rossi and Henry’s in this category?
Basically, are the Rossi’s well made?
Is the Henry steel side gate worth the extra 300$?
Is the colour case hardened worth another 200$
Seen a few glowing Utube reviews of the case hardened, but if a Rossi was available would it be a decent alternative?
Thanks in advance

I have had the Citadel Levtac 92 (rossi) and the Henry Big Boy X

Rossi - light weight, top eject, side loading gate is a bit rougher loading, no loading tube, barrel is thinner, screws get loose

Henry sidegate - hefty, side eject, easier side loading gate, easier to load, loading tube (never used it because of side gate), drilled and tapped for rails/mounting bases, thicker barrel, easier to take loop and bolt out

Both will eat any ammo except aluminum, doesn't cycle well

I preferred the Citadel because of the weight

C9er, if you've got the cash, a Winchester will put a smile on your face every time you shoot it. They're really exceptional looking, shooting, and handling. My next choice would be a Pedersoli or other quality Italian repro that's patterned off the original Winchesters, then it would be a vintage Marlin or one of the Henrys that isn't too gaudy to look at. As for the Rossis (just my opinion here, and based on what I've seen and heard from people who have them), they can be hit and miss. I wouldn't buy one that I couldn't inspect and handle in person before hand. If you get a good one, you'll likely enjoy it a lot. If you get a bad one ...

that's because Henry's exceptional warranty is being abused every now and then
Rossi on the other hand is not worth warrantying a scratch
