Finding parts for surplus rifles (svt40)

Hi everyone,

I am trying to be more outspoken on this site as I am trying to get access to EE. Anyway Figured I'd ask a question. (Hope this is the right place?)

Lets say I am trying to find parts for a surplus rifle in this case an SVT40. To be more specific a recoil spring or a firing pin spring. Would a gunsmith or gun store be able to find parts for these or would he just tell me to buy a parts rifle?

To the experts feel free to answer this in regards to other surplus rifles as well. any information will help.

Try numrich in the US. Shipping isnt cheap but have lots of hard to find stuff
