Aha, we discuss this one in my M14 Clinic video.
Head over to Lee Valley Tools or a catalogue on-line will do the job.
Turn/klik over to the "GLUE Section" and find the glue syringes. They come in straight and curved tip. Choose the curved tip since it is easily able to grease the hammer face when your Super Match M1A is glass bedded into it's stock for the entire shooting season.
I had to order about 10 or 15 since the minimum order (on-line) was $ 20 IIRC. So the syringe really cost inside a buck, but taxes and shipping sent the price up. So I was happy to recover $ 2.00 apiece for each syringe. So head over to your local Lee Valley Tools website.
Or you can visit your local dentist. After my son had his wisdom teeth extracted the dental staff gave him a pile of gauze and a curved tip syringe to clean out the gum cavity with saline solution.
Needless to say, I grabbed it and filled it full of Cambodian Tire Wheel Bearing Grease for $ 2.99 a huge tube. That tube is still around after 15 years.
What kind of grease ? Any grease... the cheapest... as far as I'm concerned.
Some CGNutters like the white lithium grease since it is visible where it's applied. Peace of mind.
Other CGNutters like exotic and expensive greases... frankly, this does nothing to help your scores... Remember that I'm a service rifle shooter (background), and that's my bias.
At my last clinic in 2004, I sold the syringes for $ 2.00 and another CGNutter brought a cylinder of lithium grease. He was giving out the grease for GOOD KARMA. You just had to stuff the lithium grease into your new syringe with a popsicle stick.
I hope this helps.
Cheers,
Barney
