Just changed my press from 2 1/2" to 3 " shells as I bought a Short Kit that is supposed to allow one to load either with minimal fuss. Everything went as planned until the last station the final crimp setting.I finally worked it out after calling MEC customer service . Very sensitive to fine adjustments. Tomorrow I'll try the short kit to see if it works. As .410 shells are now scarce and expensive I'll just load up a couple hundred. I picked up a flat of AAHS for the hulls a couple years ago. Got lots of shot ,wads ,primers and powder.

The AAhs hulls require a special wad. Is that what you are using forget the old ones you have
Cheers

I'm using HS wads where required. I set the machine up to load 3 " HS hulls then installed the short kit as stated in the instructions ,no adjustment was required for 2.5" HS hulls or 2.5" Remington hulls either. So as long as I've got HS hulls or Remington either length it works flawlessly. I'll roll crimp the Chedittes instead of messing with the adjustments.
