Hi,

I finished my semi build this afternoon and haven't fired it yet (its about an hour old) but would like input on the fore end length.

Leave it as is or cut it back some? If I cut it back a bit I'd like to angle it also. I'm leaning toward cutting it but thought I'd ask the general consensus.

Thanks!

If you look at the bottom picture, there is a small dark spot about an inch and a half back. That is a knot. It is smooth but I was thinking about cutting it back to there.

Richards Microfit gives you lots of wood for your money.....

That is an understatement. :)

They do turn out pretty good if you take the time.... and don't mind finishing their inletting. I must say though that this one was really good for fit. I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out. I should put a few more coats on it but at this point I just want to shoot it.

I'd cut it. Show off some more of that barrel. The forend does look slightly long.

That's a ###y stock! Haven't seen a wood stock I've like that much in a while.
Nice work!

I think cutting it would do it justice. Getting rid of that knot would be nice plus I doubt you'll need that much forend to find a nice balance point. That being said, I'm with the others: shoot it and then decide.
