Thanks to Nick at Tactical Imports for sticking with the program and bringing in these HK accessories, even though it took over a year to get them, but... they're here now :) Some of this stuff is not as easy to get as some guys might think! The RAL8000 foregrip and 3-piece rail cover set are on his website still, I believe, so he must have gotten a few of each. The rifle originally came from Tactical Imports last Fall when they still had ability to bring them in. This full package, from first ordering the rifle to today... 21.5 months.... Want exotic stuff? This is not a game for the impatient.

This is probably as close to the G28 as I am going to do. I like the way it is set up now, and it shoots like a bolt gun. It is very heavy. Don't mistake it for something that feels like a .223 AR, that just shoots bigger bullets. It is way too heavy to run around and shoot courses with. But, want a tactical semi that shoots with bolt gun accuracy... it would be hard to beat this - although it is restricted for us plebs, and that is an issue for a lot of guys.

Specs:
Heckler & Koch MR308A3 in RAL8000 with 16.5" barrel
G28 kit (long fore rail, and stock with adjustable cheekpiece)
flip-up front sight (inside the long rail), fold down adjustable rear sight
Schmidt & Bender PMII 4-16x50 with AI 28MOA one-piece mount
Harris bi-pod with picatinny rail adapter
HK RAL8000 3-piece rail cover set
HK RAL8000 foregrip
HK 5, 10 and 20 round mags (all actually hold only 5 rounds) with RAL8000 baseplates

I'm hoping I can find a G28 sling one day, or something similar.

Great looking rifle! I came across one simalir to yours a few weeks ago. I believe it was the MR308A3, done up in RAL8000 with a 20" barrel. Now I can't stop dreaming about it, only HK can build a gun that looks so ugly and yet so perfect.
Again, really awesome rifle. Congrats.

Thanks for the comments guys. Are these set-ups worth the money?... hard to say. Depends how much you want it. If you really have to have it, then sure. That is how I was when I found out about these (G28-style rifles). I had to have it. There are a lot cheaper ways to throw .308 calibre bullets down a shooting range, certainly, but... this isn't what guns like this are about. I have fun with it.

Here are a few pics from out in the natural light at the range today:
