Finn made Carbine SVT-40?

taking a rifle and cutting it down to 16.5 inch barrel length, to comply with American laws. as apposed to being made at the original factory.

Goo98 if you do, it will still have to comply with our laws. and you will want to buy some good ear defenders.

This is taken from the Standard Catalogue of Military Firearms:

“CAUTION: All Tokarev SVT carbines (18.5-inch barrel) encountered with “SA” (Finnish) markings were altered to carbine configuration by their importer”

We've already discussed it. Real carbines were made in small numbers and there are just so few of them in museums. US, Canada and Europe market is full of modern fakes.

It looks interesting, although I have to say I'm more of a fan of the svt in original configuration. Beautiful rifle in stock trim as far as I'm concerned.

These carbines seem about as "genuine" as 99% of the "Tanker Garands" that are out there

Id say more like 100% seeings the so called Tanker was a "T" series gun, experimental, and I'd be shocked if any more than 12 were ever made. What the SVT Carbine reminds me of is the old Globe Firearms Carbine SVT 40 in .303 British with an 18.5 inch barrel on it and someone has just taken it a little further.
