Pepere- So the hex receivered Mosins would be M91, and the round receivered rifles are 91/30? Or more to it than that?

Not all the time; the communist Russians used any receiver they could put their hands on to issue fighting rifles for their troops and there were many early M-91/30 that made use of an hex receiver.
By a funny trick of history, it looks like the Finns favored the hex-receivered Mosins and a Finn-rebarreled round-receiver M-91/30 is rarer and considered a most interesting piece from a collector's standpoint.
Go figure.
