I have this Finnish Mosin Nagant. 2 crossed out CG numbers, SA marked. Length-wise it's M91/M24/P-series.
The barrel is devoid of almost all markings, the most significant I can find is approximately below rear sight - an 'M' with some sort of symbol beside it.
Anyone recognize this symbol? https://imgur.com/a/jH9AV
The only other markings on the barrel are: serial # in regular place; one of the CG numbers above the woodline on the right hand side of the chamber; SA and a '4' on left hand side (SA above wood, 4 partially obscured). That is all.
I'm trying to figure out where that barrel came from, and shed some light on on this specific rifle.
I heard about some M-24s being supplied to Estonia, but from what I could find while they were unmarked, they had an E stamped under the chamber. Besides, this is not a heavy barrel, and does not have any M-24 identifying features.
The muzzle looks like it could be relined (and therefore be a P-series), however definitely not certain enough to claim it as such, and the s/n is way too high (93###) for regular P-series.
Bolt is assorted parts, renumbered to the rifle. Sits in a one piece stock. Mostly has Imperial Russian-era and NEW parts throughout, and is a 1917 Sestroretsk receiver.
Interested to hear theories and guesses on what others might have to say.
