Fire lapping a 22LR

I wondered the same thing, for a while. While searching for a way to get one, I found more information that pointed to one thing: waste of money, time, and your barrel. Better to spend your time and money trying different ammo to see what your gun likes best.
 
I would agree with you in regards to firearms that are working fine. This product does help in situations where someone previously picked a poor grade of lapping compound or on older rifles with a bit of erosion, pitting or rust. I too don't buy into the marketing hype that a sporter barrel can be turned into near match grade.
