Fire Lapping

I have not heard of "firelapping rounds". Any discussion of firelapping I have seen, you buy firelapping paste and apply it to the ammunition of your choice. I would think standard velocity ammunition with plain, unplated bullets would be best for .22LR.

Created my own dipping SV ammunition into JB Compound.

10 rounds and it was done.

The rounds showed no ill effects in respect to accuracy during the lapping and after a cleaning, accuracy was vastly improved.

The rifle was a CZ452 Varmint. I would do it again.

You can do it all day long and it won't matter - JB Bore Cleaning Compound does not lap steel... try some on a patch and rub bluing... after an hour I bet the bluing is still there... JB Bore Cleaning Compound is abrasive to fouling not the bore.

There is a product called final finish by David Tubbs. I used it on a .308 to very good results. It was avail at Brownells, but not sure of the calibres that are available now.
