fire sight for Marlin 1895

I have a 1895 coming in the mail, and read here somewhere that some people did not like the sights and had them replaced.

Does anyone use a firesight as a front sight ???

What set up are you guys using, or is the original sights good enough. I will be using the rifle for deer in the thick bush.

I have them on my 1895GS and I like them, especially in low light.

Looks nice. I just called the company to order one, but they need the measurement of the original sight to make sure they send me the correct firesight. He said there is a difference between the regular 1895 and the 1895guide gun.
Anyone here have the regular 1895 who can give me this measurement ?? I cannot measure mine since I only ordered it last Friday and will only receive it in aweek or so.

Sorry for the delay in my response. I purchased it directly from Williams. It was size 0.312M I believe.
