Hi there, I'm a newbie that just obtained my RPAL.
And i just found out that a site called theammosource.com ships firearm to the place i live.
The problem is, I think I have 3 different addresses. let me explain(its kinda complicated).

address A is the actual address I wrote on the RPAL application and its the same address as on my driver's licence BUT i dont live there.
address B is the mailing address and it is my parent's home
address C is the address that im CURRENTLY living in.

A is my relative's home that I used for school(when I was in highschool 5 years ago)
B is where I live during the summer
and C is my own home that i live near my university.

So if i want to get a firearm to get shipped, am I able to ship it to C? or must it go to A?

And also, how do you change the address of licence?

I would guess That you need to apply for ATT and whichever address you use on your ATT is the one. Other ppl might have a more definite answer.

Welcome

You are required by the firearms act act inform the CFC of any change of address within 30 days. So you need to get a hold of them and change your address to C.

You can have a non restricted shipped to any address and restricted to anyplace you have an authorization to transport for. But you can only store it at a the address on file with the CFC or a place authorized by them. Assuming you have the proper authorization to transport it between the above locations.

I just changed my address on the licence to the address C.
Does shipping require ATT as well?

If you are buying a restricted you will require an ATT to transport it from the post office to your house. Unless it is delivered to your door then you don't need one.

Shawn

To elaborate on my answer: I'm assuming you're buying restricted and you are going to take your restricted to the range. So the address where you store the restricted should be the one in your att.

The ATT is irrelevant in this. You can get ATTs for between any 2 or more locations as approved by the CFO.

The storage address has to be the one on file with the CFC

Send to who?

The above is not required for an internet or phone order. Some of the above may be required for your ATT tho.

I was checking out a Restricted weapon from theammosource.com and in the end of everything it says they require my pal #, place of birth, and name of the club if I want to purchase a restricted weapon. I did send an email asking why I need to send these info as well as if I need to be in a club to get it but didnt hear from them yet

The business asks for your range membership because for a while now the CFOs have been trying to make club membership a requirement of getting an ATT. The Ontario CFO recently got a stern talking to from a judge thanks to our very own Cyclone, check his Time For Court thread in the Action Center.
Club membership is not a legal requirement for getting an ATT, nor is it for acquiring a firearm. The CFOs just wish it were.
In many cases the CFOs were forcing the club to apply for your ATT, you are supposed to apply for your own directly to the CFO.

However, the seller should not require your place of birth. That is one of the essential things you use to identify yourself to the CFC. With that information another person could impersonate you. So it's up to you if you want to give that information, you are not forced to.

Bingo, except IIRC place of birth is required for a store purchase as the store does and completes the transfer. You do not need to call the CFO to complete it, they have a computer program they use to send it in.

This may have changed, its been a while since I bought a firearm from a store.

FYI, just a friendly note to remind you that at the range and here we refer to our hardware as "firearms" since we aren't (hopefully) going to use them against any person.
Enjoy your new sport. :)

I'm reasonably sure that for my online purchases I only needed to give Birthdate, not birthplace.

Also, it seems kind of silly for people who want a scan of your PAL for online purchases. Give me ten minutes and I can get a nice collection of info that looks legit at low resolution. Being online, they're not seeing your face anyways to compare to the card.

You are absolutely right it is date of birth that is required not place. I misread the post.

Do not give them your place of birth.

My last 2 restricted purchases from 2 of the top CGN sponsors required Place of Birth to complete the transaction.

Also, I think you will find that if you register on a sponsor's site as a current or future customer with the intent of making a firearms purchase, you will be asked for place of birth.

do you not have to have your R-Pal and your registration to be the same address? when you get a LTatt all three have to be one location? dwelling? you are responsible for your firearm 24/7 and must reside with you. unless temporary storage is arrange but you would need an STATT for that and notify CFO
