I posted this in the General section and it was suggested I post here for better exposure.

I am considering selling some items to save my wife/sons the hassle when I pass. I would appreciate some opinions of value for these items.

FN-FALO 50.41 12(3) less than 100 rounds through it

HK G3 12(3) 50 rounds through it

FN-FNC 300 rounds through it

Colt Delta HBAR less than 100 rounds through it

Thanks

Taken from the Blue Book of Gun Values by S.P. Fjestad so that's for the American market, but I believe it can help giving an approximate idea.
Hope that helps.

I know the member above was trying to help but values posted above are way out of line with the Canadian market. I'm going to hazard a guess and say around $1000-$1500 each...maybe less for the 12.x ones. 12.3 or .5 firearms are of value only to collectors as they can't be fired (at least under the current regs). The Delta HBAR was a nice rifle for its time but also is really of value only for collectors.

Yeah, I just meant to give a ballpark figure.
I mean obviously there's not much you can do with prohibs but I'm guessing actual FN and HK battle rifles still hold some value.

A member on this site inquired about the number of owners of 12-2 and 12-3 gun owners in Canada.
The number of 12-2 full auto owners was 301.
The number of 12-3 owners in Canada is around 1385. I am not 100% on the second number but I remembered the first one.
It also took me 3 years to get an FN FAL 12-3 out of Ottawa because they wanted to inspect it.
It should have taken them about 20 minutes to do it and another 25 minutes to write it up.

I think that's probably a rosy number on the 12.3's. Waiting 2-3 years to take possession is a real deterrence. I think they're worth more to deactivate (although getting them deregistered can take a long time too.)

Nope, absolutely useless as the market forces are totally different. In the U.S., pre ban guns like those can be bought by anyone, so the value is inflated hugely. Here, only a very small number of grandfathered individuals can buy them. You're probably looking at no more than $1500 a piece here, probably less. Additionally, the items you posted for the FAL and G3 are not the same as what the OP has. The OP has converted auto guns, not dedicated semis like the blue book listings.

Those prices are US prices for full auto transferable machine guns, in the states the price of legally transferable machine guns are expensive. I was just down in Vegas and talking to a range owner who rents out machine guns. He was telling me how much he had to pay for some of those guns it was unbelieveable

I have a question. Say, for the sake of argument. OP were to adopt me. Would I be grandfathered should he choose to transfer them to me? Just asking because reasons.....

I checked on this if you have a 12(3) then there is no transferability once you die the estate has so long to get rid of the guns, now if you are a 12(6) then your children can get a 12-7 to look after and possess your guns. I can't remember if it's all guns of 12(6) but I know that there's a transferability clause for 12(6) for maybe specific guns

Blue Book values are completely useless for Canada. It's a shame, but these are worth more deactivated, than as functioning firearms. The exception being the Colt. Depending on condition and accessories, these generally fetch between $1100-$1500, with the latter figure at the top, top end of the range.

They do, but the number of 12.3 owners is even less than 12.5, and (I think) 12.3s need to be verified by the Firearms Lab before their transfer is approved. IIRC from what I've seen posted that can take several years.

I have a couple of the old pocket novel sized SIR Winnipeg catalogs with converted AK-47s for sale with magazines 'down to the ground'.
How times have change.
Nobody was converting them back and shooting people with them as I recall.
Amazingly the ruger mini-14 lepine used at ecole polytechnique is still legal and non-restricted.

No they don't. Aside form the fact that they cannot be shot, there are very few people in Canada that actually hold the license allowing them to own 12(3) firearms. I'm guessing there's a couple of hundred people in the entire country that have 12(3) licensees. That's a pretty limited market. Compare that to the U.S., where there's 300 million people who can legally own those guns (but the supply is very limited because none can be imported anymore). Unfortunately, I doubt that the OP would be able to get much more than $1000 for any of the guns listed in his post (a shame, really).

I don't think OP wants to sell these guns, I have PMed him and publicly posted that I would be interested, but he has not contacted me. Another member has found a couple for me and I am looking to buy one
