Fireforming 223rem with titegroup

Hi guys wondering if anyone here has fire formed brass using the titegroup (only pistol powder on hand) and cream of wheat (other media options?). What would be a fire forming powdering load using titegroup for the 223rem case or is bluedot cleaner burning that titegroup?


I've got 300 rounds of match prep win brass that I'm getting ready for a F-class shoot. I've got a load ready however don't want to dump 300 rounds just to fire form my brass.

Any suggestion or description of the process would be appreciated.

Hi there..

I have used Bullseye to fire form my brass for .308... I looked at the burn chart from the Lapua reloading guide and Bullseye and Titegroup have similar burn speeds.. so i think it would work...

I used cream of wheat over Bullseye.. I think i used 12 grains of Bullseye for 308.. You would use less for .223. Probably about 5-6 grains if you do the ratios of the cases.. but dont quote me on it..

Fireforming this way works great.. have done all my .308 Lapua brass this way.. Got some strange looks from the old timers at the range but it works..
