fireing pin issue with rossi puma model 92 44 magnum

ok so last time i shot the gun was 4ish months ago .. had it to the range a couple days back firing some factory 180 grain stuff ... something happened to the firing mechanism ... before when you would rack the shell into the chamber and "#### it" the firing pin would stay back about a centimeter or 2 so there was a nice surface for the hammer to hit now when you "#### it" with a shell chambered you can tip the barrel of the gun up and down and watch the firing pin slide back and forth there is nothing keeping it in place the gun will still fire tho... not sure what happened or what broke but im thinking it is a spring of sorts

There's nothing wrong with it, that's exactly how they're supposed to work. It's called an inertial firing pin, and original Winchesters ( 92 & 94 ) work exactly the same way.
