Hi everyone, Im having a problem with my semi auto .22. Ok the gun is made in Germany and im gonna tell you what the action says "Made by J.G. Anschotz GmoH. Waffenfabrik. Ulm/D. West Germany" and below that on the side "CIL model 300" and on the barrel "Canadian Industries Limited. Montreal Canada.". The problem im having is that the ejector and firing pin keep flying out and usually a cartridge will jam in the mean time. It has happened 4 times now and the last time the gunsmith i took it too even built up a little spot to hold in the ejector and then after about a clip it flew out again. Is this a generic problem? If not what is wrong with my gun? This is starting to get VERY frustrating! Please help!

Thanks Steve

Hi Steve,

I've owned e few of these rifles, never had those problems. Does your ejector just screw into the side of the trigger assembly ? If so, try some loctite. The firing pin is held in by a pin thru the bolt. Is the pin worn so badly that it just falls out ? Is it there ? I just sold one of these rifles along with a parts rifle to Kfn. He may be able to help you out with your bolt problem, send him a pm. Depending on what shape your trigger assembly is in (where the ejector is attached) you may have to replace it. Try Western Gun Parts, they might have what you need. A couple of pic's would sure help in trying to figure out the problem.

Back when those were first on the market and I was a warranty gunsmith for CIL in the late 60's early 70's, I tried to fix hundreds of these... they kept supplying different new parts and the guns kept blowing up. HUNDREDS of them... it was a problem gun from day one... I still find it hard to believe Anschutz made such a dog.

Eventually they introduced a breechbolt with a screw locking the extractor in place. When a shell blew with the older design blew the extractor right out... well when a shell blew with the newer design it usually broke the extractor anyway...

Eventually the model numbers went from 300 to 330 to 400 and up I think... but still the same basic gun with the same basic problem of sometime firing a shell with the breechbolt slightly open causing the case to rupture. I think they also addded a gas deflector around the breech opening to stop pieces from hitting your face.

Sometimes the bottom of the magazine would blow off from the gas escaping.

I am sorry to bring you this bad news but that model was a huge problem. Not repairable in my experience.

#^*@! that pisses me off soooo bad! I just got that rifle! I also just paid a smith to fix it 3 times and i bought a new scope for it! Ugh im going to school, this is gonna be a good day i can tell already!

Thanks All Steve
