First 2013 gopher today! Feb/23

Pretty nice day here now that the snow stopped. Just as the sun started to shine I was thinking that gophers will probably start poking their heads out soon, not five minutes later while checking on my horses I saw this guy.

Had to run back and grab the Cooey but he was still there when I got back sunning himself on the snow. Actually got a second but lost the little bugger down the hole.

Back in 2011 the first ones were out on the 5th of March and I don't remember when they came out last year?

I am offended by this picture with all of the blood and gore ! It is showing total disrespect for the gopher. You should take the time to clean everything up and put the gopher in a natural pose.
