First AR, quick question on Norinco...Help

Just bought a new norinco off a fellow member tonight..

just wanted to know.. what should I mod? and rookie Q but if i wanted to change the stock to a magpul Do i need military or commercial(gonna guess Military :)


What would be the cheapest and most functional mods?

You should grab a bunch of Pmags stat!

Seriously though, is it a bone stock M4gery? Did the previous owner shoot it much or have any issues? I say just buy ammo and have at it. Don't go modifying it at all until you see how it shoots and what you want to do with it - that will save you money and aggravation in the long run. You'd need a mil spec stock not a commercial one btw.

i have 6 pmags waiting for her :)
its new in the box it was never fired.. I know i wana change the stock and grips thats for sure..and add some optics.

Norc receiver extensions are NOT mil-spec, you will need a commercial stock, or to change the existing receiver extension to use a mil-spec stock. This from actually owning 2 and having put Mag Pul stocks on both. If I were in your shoes, I'd get an Ergo pistol grip and put a couple of thousand rounds through it before doing anything. My first Norc ended up like this.

Incidentally, mil-spec stocks work better, as they tend to have less wiggle - so if you have your mind set on running an aftermarket stock, I'd switch the receiver extension out and replace the commercial set up with a mil-spec one.

first thing to change would be the magpul stock . get the commercial one and it will fit right on. after that you can decide what u wanna do. but the butt stock is the first place i would go.
 
I hate the sloppy 6 position stock so I swapped on a M93 from the EE. The only onther thing I suggest is getting a better grip as I hate the stock one. Aside from that shoot it! Handguards are only an aesthetic change but the magpul ones are cheap and have a rail system that bolts on pretty easy if you were looking for a AFG or Grip up front.
