hey all,
dont know if this is in right forum if not mods pls move, but before i can buy my first AR i thought i would get some info/expertise advice from fellow CGNers, i wont be buying until november as i have to build up my gun fund, told the wife she'd get a Beretta b4 i buy the rifle so these will be our xmas presents lol, i'm looking for your opinions, good & bad on whats on the market all info is greatly appreciated!

Bang for buck Daniel Defense. I have seen alot of the more expensive AR's malfunction just like the cheaper ones. so dont get caught up paying for a name.
Find a decent priced good qaulity AR.

Just my op but once you hit 2g you have found a good one I dont think you get anymore in a gun for 4g unless maybe a ambi lower but I don't like those myself.
And remember Milspec is just a set set of the lowest qaulity it can be so dont be freaked if it doesnt have a mil spec trigger ETC. and I dont like Norinco at all no matter the model.
just my 2 cents.

Eight months is a bit long to be making predictions right now.

Basically anything is a good first choice. Budget is the first limiting factor, followed by intended use and frequency of use, followed by operating system and brand preference.
If you just want one for the sake of having one, get a 400 used norinco. If you want a personalized one get an engraved one from Motiuk. If you want one for the sake of being able to say you have it, get Knight's Armament, or Noveske, or HK, or ATRS, or one of the other top end brands. If you want one that has good value get Daniel Defense, or Windham Weaponry, or Stag, or one of the other approximately eleventy billion manufacturers.

It's actually pretty unlikely you could get a bad one if you walk into a gun store and buy one of the first three you see. Most manufacturers have been doing it for a long time and have worked out the kinks by now, and any parts that you don't like can be switched out.
You can spend five hundred bucks or five thousand, depending on how fancy you want it and how you want to use it.

I would not buy an AR at the 1K price point. Save a little longer if you need too and get something higher end like Noveske or Knights.
