So my very first AR arrived today. From order to delivery was seven days from Al Flaherty's. And free shipping to boot! She's a Smith & Wesson M&P 15 Sport II. The reviews on this gun are great so I figured I'd pull the trigger. For $699 + GST how can a guy go wrong.

Here she is in the box, and the 5 round magazine (thanks stupid Canadian gun laws)

And here she is with a TRS-25 mounted. Someday I may get a better optic for it but for now this will definitely do. The reviews on it are good as well.

Now I just have to wait for the registration paper to show up so I can go shoot it. (thanks again stupid Canadian gun laws)

I cant wait! :dancingbanana:

Congrats. And you're now screwed. ARs are like crack cocaine. You just can't stop at 1. And please don't ask how I know.. my wife may stumble on this post.

Seriously though, you'll love it. The AR is an amazing platform. Easy to shoot, and easy to disassemble and clean.

ARs tend to take more time than pistols for registration. Even more for the 1st one.

My experiences do not support this statement. It's insanity to attempt to predict the outcome of something no one has any control over.

Congrats on the new toy! They're a pile of fun.

I'm a couple weeks into waiting for my transfer to go through. Likely another couple before I see mine.

Here in Saskatchewan we are blessed with a CFO that is top notch. Transfers are done quickly and efficiently. I ordered this rifle on Wednesday last week and it was shipped Thursday. Transfer was done. The wait times in Ontario is crazy.

Congrats.

The price on these rifles is fantastic for an entry level product; if anyone is on the fence about taking the plunge into the AR market, rest asurd this is a very good buy.

My first AR was from Al Flaherty's as well. Wasn't $699.00! Can't believe that this much gun costs that little. I am sure that you'll really enjoy this rifle. ARs really strike a sweet balance. Flaherty's is a great shop. I have never found a correlation between the restricted firearm and the processing time. Never waited more than a few days in Ontario and once a couple of hours.

It ain't a burden. Buy it and shoot it!

Enjoy your AR!

I can back that statement 100%. I bought my first AR 3 years ago. Left it alone in the safe and all of a sudden there were 2. Then 3 and 4 and then an ACR showed up. It gets even more addicting when you start building your own

Yea I got some P-Mags right away because of that stupid joke they give you with it. However the mags Colts come with are even worse. Now that's a slap in the face and then bend over and take it kind of mag.
