I sold all of my shotguns, but if I was to buy a new one, which slug mold/wad/load combo would you try first for best accuracy?

Well I would look up fire hydrant slugs. People seem to be having good accuracy with those. Loads, they are on the net. I stick with yhese because they do what I need them to.

I have the hydrant slug mold, the paradox mold, both lee slugs, lyman 525, numerous round ball molds .662" up to .690" and to be honest for ease and cost I would chose the lee or a round ball.
The mold and was combos from Russia have proven slightly more accurate than the plain old wad slugs.
They will stretch accuracy out to about 75 yards if everything is perfect. If your wad gets crumpled shifted or anything during the seating and loading process all bets are off.
With my pet load with either the lee 1oz or round ball loads I can get about 4" groups at 50 yards consistently.

First time i heard of the fire hydrant model.
Anyone first hand experience how accuracy compares to the lyman 525 pellet style slug?

It looks like a challenger slug. They are somewhat accurate depending on several factors. They are also very finicky to cast. The other issue is getting a good crimp height on them. I have the mec 600 slugger and that simplified the crimp somewhat.
I was getting about 5" groups at 70 yards out of a smoothbore mossberg cylinder bore. I was getting excessive obturation with pure lead. Switched to 50/50 ww to pure and got better results.
Never tried it out of a rifled bore.
Personally I have had the least luck with the lyman 525 compared to all my other slugs and round ball
These are my personal experiences with the above. Ymmv, as always slug loading is half luck and half magic
