30-30, 173gr FNGC from about 75yards. Netted 44# of cheese smokies :xes

What are the details on the rifle? From the pic it looks like a single shot or a half magazine rifle. Wouldn't be a model 64 Winchester, would it?
How fast, and what alloy did you use? Inquiring minds want to know.

Savage 340c, no chrony data (just went with most accurate charge), alloy is Heinz 57 (acww with pewter for fill).

I actually got it from the local hardware store. The directions that I found say to heat the paste wax and cook off the hydrocarbons or something. What you are then left with is useable product.

What?!? You didn't use the latest, greatest whiz-bang super duper this and that and everything else coated bullet? Good on you for posting the results. I have never hunted with cast. Certainly not because I think there is anything wrong with cast for hunting. I love casting, reloading, and shooting.

Also, very nice bullet placement. Boiler room!

Late post but I'd like share my congratulations on your cast boolit success.
I use the same mould but have since changed to the NOE 165gr FN that bought off the EE here plus 9 tubes of rcbs lube off another CGN here. Where in central Ab ar you?
Cheers!

Fake post! :p #1. 30-30's are no good; #2. Cast bullets are no good for hunting; #3. Lee molds are no good.

#4. Savage 340's are no good.

Jeez! How could you do this?

Congratulations, seriously! I hunt whitetail with a well worn old 94 in .32 Special. I shall have to mix up some loads and use them for hunting.

Thanks for posting! :)
