Being on a budget a stop my choice on 3 differents guns. the final choice is tough to make

Berretta 92FS
Jericho 941
CZ-75 SP01

and .40 S&W or 9mm

this gun will be for regular and action shooting.

All of them are SA/DA. Beretta's grip is thick, CZ and Jericho are clones and basically identical in most aspects. I suggest to try all of them before you buy. I have a CZ 85 Combat and I love it.

...this gun will be for regular and action shooting...
If by "action shooting" you mean IPSC Production Division and/or IDPA SSP, your choice (from those you've identified) should be obvious...

the 9x19mm CZ-75 SP01 Shadow is one of the most competitive pistols in both sports.

For the gun, whatever fits your hand the best...

As for what puts the hole in the paper, all things being equal, the hole the 9mm makes is smaller so you can shoot more with the same amount of money and won't fatigue you as much.

I think any of the CZ pistols are grate like you said maybe a tanfoglio. there is bound to be some copy of CZ you like allot to your perferance and all of them are good!

I own/have owned many of the handguns in this price range, such as the CZ, Glock, M&P, and put many rounds through Sigs, and various 1911's, and my favourite so far is the Beretta 92A1!

I have owned the CZ, and fondled the IMI to no end, as I was ready to buy one of the hard chrome ones awhile ago.

Beretta wins hands down for me.

Fit and finish is head and shoulders above the others, unless we are talking the chrome IMI. The position of the slide and mag release on the CZ are slightly too far for me, and I find the Beretta much more comfortable. The Beretta is just so smooth it is unbelievable. It really feels like that Berretta slide is on ball bearings. ;)

Interesting that the CZ and IMI are very similar guns, and both very different then the Berretta.
