Although its been open for duck and partridge for a month now and we did put our pheasants out in August with the bad weather they have been immature. This shoot I run the beating on. Today we decided due to farm conditions to have a walked up day. Many areas were out of bounds due to the farm work and immature birds so half of the guns didnt turn up.
We still enjoyed our 3 hours of sunshine and with the mercury at 15 degrees we certainly peeled a few layers off as we went along.
to save posting all the pics I have put it up on my blog:http://bashingbambi.########.com/
Have a read, our own birds in our little local wood of 70 acres are ready but we arent yet. I need to cut more rides through the ferns and brambles and sort out a couple of guns but we always drive the 200 mile round trip to work this farm. Its about 1500 acres near Winchester at the foot of the South Downs and natural shooting ground. We saw plenty of deer but they are for another trip!
