first deer rifle

Yes.
It was a Longbranch No.4Mk1*, built in '47 if IIRC.
I sporterized it myself (mistake # 1:( ) and sold it many years later (mistake # 2:mad: ).
Yup, over 40 (the gun was too!)

my first deer rifle was not a rifle at all but a mauser converted to a 16 guage shotgun, I was 12 ,am now 45, it has taken 4 deer and countless ruffies

P-14 in 303 brit. Bought it just before the gun registry came into effect. Paid 50$ and got a sling, case and ammo in addition to the gun. Gunsmith said it is the best shap ever. He also said he could get something like 1000$ for it in the states!!

Bubba'd No.4 Mk2 Got it about 4 years ago. Stock was poor and action was rough but looks and runs great now...and slowly my shooting is improving too.

Trying to figure it out when it comes to my reloading...kind of like a new girlfriend.:D

I'm 34.

Mine was a Lee Enfield MkII in .303 British. My dad bought it at Sears in Lethbridge when I was 12. I never sporterized it, except for mounting a scope on it. I had it until I was 23 or so. I'm 51 going on 12.

My first deer rifle was a Savage 340 in 30-30. That was way back in 1962.

Used it for one season and traded it in for a Savage 110 in 270 Winchester. It had a Lyman reciever sight on it, and Charlie Parkinson gave me a box of 130 gr Silvertips with the rifle.

Boys, I was ridin' high then! :dancingbanana:

Remington 7600 in .308 (brand new), Christmas present when I was 16, killed lots of deer with it.:)

1st deer rifle was a 30-30 Win 94 my Father gave me.
Soon strepped up to a 303 British P-14 and took my 1st Bear with it..thought it was a Cannon:rolleyes:
