Howdy-
i been a bit busy of late, bit of hunting, but dabbling with Taxidermy for my trophies , as i cant afford a taxidermy bill, i thought i would have a go at doing them myself.

i began with this Fallow. i shot him in the 2013 rut with a 270 from about 40m in a tight gulley as he fed with his harem of does before going to bed up for the day.
i caught him on camera the year before an noted his well palmated main beam from the bey tine up to the palm itself. hard to tell here, will add photos later once finished up.

the above fallow i paid a 'professional' Bloke who was guiding and taxi'n , was never happy with the ears and eyes in full alert..... but anyway, mine is the one still pegged an pinned as about 10 days into drying (mid wintr, difficult)

Me fairly stoked with my deer, will need to do minor things once dry *

and im about to pull a Red stag cape from the Tan and prep the Form, an start it this week :)
and have a Sambar cape ready to go once i get that Red started..... see how they turn out- as my old sambar are busting apart at the ears but old mate appears to have used Bog or what u guys call Bondo? , type stuff..... whereas im not.

fingers crossed

Thank you all so much for the encouragement! i know it isnt perfect but being the 'bushy' i am, i just want the deer to look like the Species they represent , that ive hunted (an now hopefully mounted) a series of them for potentially a quater of the price , i love a euro mount but that was the budget side of me, however there is always a Cape running around the bush and gives more meaning to the persuit in these 'burnt out' days where trophy deer are hard to come by.

im looking forward to putting a bit more time into the Red deer, now i know i have alot of time to play with- and get it looking sweet !
