First Glass

I did not know that! Thank you.

Just so that I understand, the way that was calculated was:

32 * 3.4377 (to convert it to MOA) / 2 ≈ 55 ≈ 60 MOA right?

Hey Man , xlnt choice on guns I have an MTR in .22 & .17

When buying a scope go MIL RAD at least 24 x , zero your rifle at 50 mtrs
1 click = 1 cm at 100 mtrs , why convert.

...skwerl

On YouTube, 'womfat' has a bunch of videos which I think will help you in your decision-making.

Congrats on the rifle. Hope to see you posting some groups soon!

As others have said scopes are solid choices in your list. (I did mean to mention Leupold but every time I think of them I can only think if the Mark 5HD in 5-25 and 7-35 and those both do not fit the budget) they do make awesome glass though. Not sure you will find the features for the budget but never hurts to keep an eye open.

As mentioned above “womfat” on YouTube is great. When looking up scopes on YouTube beware some people are paid for opinions or ad space an that can be annoying. (As far as I’m aware womfat isn’t one of those people and a great reviewer and shooter)

I wish you best of like finding a deal it’s the right time of year to be doing it. I’ve got my eye on a couple for testing and the Rimfire rig as well.

Cheers,
B

I tend to look out for good quality used glass. I have a S&B 1.25-4x 20mm on my CZ 455 and its a little higher than $500 budget but its an awesome optic for this gun. Nonetheless there are lots of great used options that beat the pants off cheap new glass.

I have a HAWKE that I could part with really cheap, they have a transferable lifetime warranty. This is what you want to look for in a scope. If it doesn't have a transferable warranty they don't trust their own equipment.

https://amzn.to/3TGCcnt - this is the scope

It's perfect for .22LR, clear AF glass.

PM me if you're interested. :)

If you're not after a used one, let me suggest my favourite lineup.

Has everything you need FFP, Zero Stop, Clear glass, only issue this is a tighter eye box, so if that bothers you it's not for you, but these scopes are amazing, lifetime transferable warranties. I know some of the guys who started the company, and I put my trust in those guys.

You may not be able to get it from Amazon, but I know Airgun Source Canada in Ontario carries the entire Element Optics lineup. They come in MOA or MRAD.

Buy something from Bass Pro on sale and work from there.
Buying something with a big ticket for your first glass will probably be OK but what do you really want to do with it.
I probably have 20+ guns with scopes, used and new from 100 to 1000. Some of the cheap scopes are surprisingly clear and accurate.
I have Bushnell, Vorteck, Redfield, Tasco, Zeiss, and Bausch & Lomb to name a few.
My guns range from Rugers, CZ, to various Anschutz models.
Just my 5 cents because we don't have 1 cents anymore.
